Written June 2nd, 1998
A seed
Planted lovingly by gentle hands
Grows upright and green
Budding lazily
And one day bursting into bloom
Flaunting its rich colors
Swaying contentedly in the breeze
Only to be plucked
Torn
Uprooted by the inconsiderate hand of fate
A wind
A rain
A sleet
A hail
Any one of Mother Nature's destructive tools
Harshly crushes the well adjusted plant
Yet fails to completely destroy
The seed of life within
