Mists of Doubt

Written October 20, 1998

A thick hazy qualm
And menacingly dense misgivings
Cloud my nearsighted vision.
They confuse my already bewildered thoughts,
Affecting previously illogical judgement.
Doubts lurk behind darkened corners,
Waiting to pounce upon the trusting,
Who would never suspect less than guiltlessness.
Hopes survive among the sunless societies,
Shining forth with never waning radiance,
Withstanding the continuous attempts to extinguish the flames.
