Lonely Drop

Written May 25, 1998

A drop of rain
Splashes onto a pavement sidewalk
Feeling lonely
It shivers
Waiting
Watching
Finally the drop is rewarded for its patience
Another falls
Causing the first to tremble happily
Still yet another comes
To join the first two
And so the rain falls
Slowly
Yet picking up speed
Into the ever-growing puddle
Of rainfriends
Dancing on the pavement
