Fear to Fall

hanging on by two lingering fingers,
shreds of frayed hemp un-braiding
before my frightened eyes

gazing upward at last chances,
swallowed whole by blinding silk
drenched in honeyed ether

foreshadowed fear laced with soothsaid sweetness,
twists the wrists with twitchèd wrenching
feverish struggle against entity

everything hangs in the balance,
sanity and in, trust and mis,
heartening and dis
