Ever wonder what makes me cry?

Ever question my morals and goals?
Ever think that I'm silly and sentimental?
Ever wish I'd leave well enough alone?
Ever hope for something I hoped for?

Ever had your standards shot down and trampled upon?
Ever wept because you cared so much?
Ever fought for what's unpopularly right?
Ever yearned for something obviously futile?

Ever think about what I've said?
Ever recognize the reasons I care?
Ever remember a deed I performed?
Ever realize my feelings aren't faked?

Ever mentioned something worth pondering?
Ever been concerned for clear purposes?
Ever accomplished a memorable act?
Ever had sincere emotions misunderstood?

Ever seen the joy I've acquired?
Ever envied the wisdom I've attained?
Ever noticed a comforting presence in times of need?
Ever detected a hint of insight into your soul?

Ever searched for happiness?
Ever pursued discernment?
Ever been there for someone when they required love?
Ever comprehend the true depths of a persons heart?

Ever share my heavy load?
Ever ran with me to the end?
Ever broken my unbroken heart?
Ever know that I loved you?

Ever felt as leaden as I did?
Ever wanted something for me?
Ever overlooked a flaw in my character?
Ever built up my hopes and esteem?

Ever cared enough to cry?
