When I find it hard to breathe,
I know I'm thinking about you.
When I can't even force a smile,
I know I'm missing yours.
When I feel like a train just ran over my heart,
split it apart,
and left six-feet deep tracks,
I know I'm remembering the moment we parted.

The pain could have been avoided,
but I don't regret a single minute,
not one kiss,
one caress,
or the tender way you laced your fingers through mine.

Someday, somehow,
I'll be with you again.
We may be parted, but only for a short time.
If God smiles on us,
we'll be together in Him,
Forever.
